LAUNCH EVENT
Bossa Terra is Jeffrey Beer’s second collection with AKDO tile. Inspired by Beers’s time in Brazil as a young designer, the team at Jeffrey Beers International (JBI) created a line of sand-blasted pavers reminiscent of Brazilian architecture and urban planning.
AKDO hosted a soft launch for collection in partnership with JBI, Interior Design Magazine, and Ardex. I was in charge of designing all the graphics for the launch event.
INSPIRED BY BRAZIL
Jeffrey Beers studied under Oscar Niemeyer in Brazil early in his career which shaped the way he designed. The geometry and forms of Niemeyer’s work inform the design of this collection as well as the mix of greenery and stonework in Brazil’s public spaces.
BOSSA TERRA : A COLLECTION OF OUTDOOR PAVERS
The three patterns within the collection are meant to be mixed and match to create totally unique outdoor spaces. I wanted to bring the soft forms and modular nature of the pavers into the visual graphics of the launch event, creating a cohesive visual experience from product to presentation.
FROM PAVERS TO POSTERS
Taking inspiration from the Praia line within the collection, I used the curved lines from the paver design to create containers for content. These three 48 x 96 inch posters tell the story of the collection. The first one (on the left) speaks to Beers’s time in Brazil and the inspiration behind the collection. The second (in the middle) shared the process behind the designing the pavers using sketches the product team created during the development of collection. And the last (on the right) honors Jeffrey Beers and his impact on the interior design industry and community.
CREATING A CAPTIVATING EXPERIENCE
We wanted the event to feel as immersive as possible within AKDO’s showroom. It was important that, from entry, guests were surrounded by Bossa Terra visuals to fully immerse them in the collection. Not only did we take over the display cases on the southwest wall (3 & 4), but also utilized floor to ceiling posters on the free standing displays (5 & 6) in the space to achieve the impact we wanted.

AND SOMETHING TO TAKE WITH YOU
This event was a soft launch. The collection is not available for purchase until later this spring. Therefore, we wanted something for the guests to take with them to remind them about the product release. I designed postcards with the same curved line motif along with product photography on the front and the paver designs and collection description on the back. On the bottom of the postcards it says Coming Spring 2025 to remind guests and potential customers to come back when the pavers are available.
